More Food for Kids This Summer.
Less Strain on Your Team.
Shelf-stable, SFSP-compliant meal kits delivered to your sites with audit, compliance, and enrollment tools built-in.
When sponsors have capacity, more kids get the food they need.
Whether you’ve been an SFSP sponsor for years or are launching for the first time, procurement, staffing / volunteer gaps, rural access, and compliance requirements can be challenging.
Most sponsors aren't short on care. They're short on capacity.
How Umoja helps sponsors succeed
More food per meal
Average 3.8oz meat or meat alternative (M/MA) per entree. Larger entrees ensure kids feel fuller and more satisfied. Other providers average 2-2.5oz M/MA.
Tray meals, not bags
Stronger, sturdier packaging with Umoja’s trays protect products, reducing damages during delivery and distribution to families.
Compliance support is built in
Compliance is key. Our team has built audit and compliance support tools to make it easier for your team to provide the documentation needed for your program.
Tracking your program in real time
Real-time delivery tracking tools, parent surveys, incentives and reports give you the metrics you need for reporting on your program impact and ensuring everything runs smoothly.
Meeting your families where they are
Solutions for rural non-congregate parent pickup and home delivery models, hybrid and congregate sites. Multi-day meal kits: 3-, 5-, 7-, 10-day and weekend packs. Allergen-friendly and Kosher- and Halal-friendly options available.
Built for a wide variety of sponsors
School Districts
Our kits enable rural non-congregate parent pick-up, weekend meal distribution during summer school, and hybrid service models—without requiring additional food prep, kitchen staff, or complex logistics.
Food Banks
Multi-day, shelf-stable kits simplify large-scale distribution, reduce storage and volunteer burden, and allow food banks to serve hard-to-reach or rural communities efficiently and cost-effectively.
Community-Based Sponsors
Our meals support both congregate programming and flexible take-home options, helping organizations extend nutrition support beyond daily program hours while staying SFSP compliant.
Faith-Based Sponsors
Shelf-stable kits reduce reliance on daily food preparation and volunteer staffing, making it easier for churches to operate rural non-congregate or parent pick-up models and serve more families throughout the summer.
