Background

Holly Charles “Charlie” Park is the Operations Manager for Umoja Health.

Charlie comes to Umoja from the Central Texas Food Bank where she worked in food rescue and helped provide over 53 million meals to those in need in 2020 alone. During her time with CTFB, Charlie ran the ARP and Starbucks Food Share rescue programs, overseeing 790 food rescue pickups weekly from more than 200 regional donors.

Charlie earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin, double majoring in Anthropology and Geography with a focus on Food Systems, Sustainability, and Social Justice. She is also certified as a Food Defense Coordinator through AIB and holds a Functional Fluency certification in Spanish and English from the Global Seal of Biliteracy. She has given back to a variety of organizations in her community, including El Buen Samaritano teaching ESL to adults, serving as a member of the Community Service Committee for the Young Women’s Alliance, and as a member of the Young Nonprofits Professionals Network. She is a Texas Center for Local Food grant winner, supporting her participation in the Texas Local Food Anti-Racism training by the National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ). Charlie’s passion is improving food systems for undersupplied markets and helping people in need gain access to healthy, sustainable food.
