Background

Sara is Umoja’s Hunger Solutions Regional Sales Manager for the Mideastern, Midwest and West regions.  

Serving as the Director of Programs for Missourian food banks previously, Sara garnered experience and joy for feeding insecure communities. Working with food banks, building relationships with those running hunger relief organizations and exploring operational solutions is Sara’s focus and favorite part of the work. Sara enjoys that all the food banks and pantries are uniquely different, but they are working towards one goal: to help eliminate food insecurity. Sara has organized school-based food pantries aka “Campus Cupboards”. This program allows students to utilize a small pantry inside the schools, filled with donated items from the local community members, bringing home meals for the whole family.  

Sara graduated from Missouri Western State University with a dual major in Marketing and Management. She lives in a small town in Missouri with her family who she wouldn’t trade for the world.
